1st Contact is our outreach/drop-in service that meets with those that have a need to socialise with others over a tea/coffee and biscuits in a relaxed environment. Volunteers are on hand to talk to our guests and make them feel welcomed and provide a listening ear.
During our daytime sessions guests, can discuss more tailored support such as accessing rehabilitation programs and discussing housing related problems. Staff are also available to assist with Welfare Benefit enquiries and completing forms as well as issuing emergency food parcel referrals supplied by The Ravenhouse Trust.
Warm clothing, Sleeping Bags, blankets and toiletries are available to those who are street homeless. Larger items of clothing are available via referral from The Salvation Army. Although first contact satisfies the immediate needs of our guests Eden Gate volunteers and staff are best placed to come alongside those who are vulnerable and in need of support.
